Historian + Translator

A historian of the Second World War and the Holocaust, I received my PhD with distinction from New York University in 2024. My dissertation, “Fragments of Exile: A Sociopolitical History of Alsatian and Mosellan Expellees in the Basses-Alpes, 1939-1945,” examines refugee practices and authoritarian statecraft during the Vichy period. Its micro-historical approach emphasizes the critical influence of individuals’ discretionary power on the local application of national policy. Bilingual in French and English, I am also available to translate social science, humanities and other non-fiction articles and books from French to English. Docteure en histoire (New York University, 2024), mes projets de recherche portent sur la Seconde Guerre mondiale et la Shoah en France. Ma thèse, « Fragments of Exile: A Sociopolitical History of Alsatian and Mosellan Expellees in the Basses-Alpes, 1939-1945 », est une histoire sociopolitique des pratiques de réfugié⸱es alsacien⸱nes et mosellan⸱nes et d’une administration préfectorale sous le régime de Vichy. Sa méthodologie microhistorique souligne l’influence du « pouvoir discrétionnaire » des administrateurs sur la traduction de politiques nationales en pratiques quotidiennes. Bilingue, je propose également des services de traduction du français vers l’anglais d’articles et de livres en sciences sociales et humaines, ainsi que d’autres textes non-littéraires.
